The Advantages of Ceramic Tile For Home Decoration July 26, 2009

Ceramic tile is a slab of ceramic material made up of mixtures of clays, sand, and other substances. It is molded by required shapes and sizes to fit the customer’s wants and designs. Sizes ranges from 90 cm to one meter while thickness ranges from 5mm to 20-25 mm. It is commonly used for design purposes and technical function. Design purposes are served when the tiles are put together to decorate a wall while technical function is emphasized when they are used as floor coverings. Ceramic tile is usually chosen for its hardness and strength to endure heavy objects laid on it. The properties of tiles are its format, color, and décor. The format is the size and shape of the tile. Usually, tile shapes are square and rectangle.
The use of ceramic tile offers numerous advantages over other coverings. Ceramic tile comes in unlimited variety and colors. There are red, green, brown, blue, orange or a combination of complementary colors. These colors have different meanings and set moods. For instance, blue signifies openness, coolness, and cleanliness. Others also have designs such as flowers and leaves. The choice of design depends on the decoration of the house where it will be installed.
Also, the installation is also relatively easy. Someone knowledgeable can follow a do-it-yourself procedure a successfully put the tile together. Unlike other covering, installation do not require professional touch and do not also require extensive measuring for the tile is already cut and must only be grouted to stay in place. Since the tile comes in squares, a single damaged tile can be replaced without replacing the whole covering. Only a part can be removed and grouted to replace the damaged tile.
What Not to Display on Display Signs July 26, 2009

If you are promoting a product and you are doing some advertising with displays, don’t allow for your customer to know everything. Otherwise, they won’t have a reason to call you, or come visit you.
For instance, when I was working in the banking industry, we displayed our rates on a fancy looking board in the middle of our main lobby.
Customers would come in, take care of their business, glance at the rate board, and walk out the door.
Than one day, some genius decided to take the rate board down, forcing the customer to come into an associate’s office, have a seat, and verbally ask for the rates.
This gave the sales associate an opportunity to sit down with the customer, discuss rates one on one, and also have the opportunity to go over some other products the customer might be interested in.
When you put together an advertisement, put on just enough information to peak your customers interest. Enough to get them to pick up the phone and call you, or come into see you.
Never underestimate the power of meeting one on one with a potential customer.
And remember, props don’t sell, people do.
If a customer has gone as far as contacting you, they have pretty much placed the ball in your court. You now know that they are interested, and it becomes your responsibility to finish the advertisement and close the deal.
When putting an advertisement together, you want people to be wowed by it. But you also want to save some of that magic for when they contact you.
So when you get their attention with your products great features, make sure you save some of that magic to peak their interest even greater once they contact you.
An example of this would be a bank advertising a free checking account.
The advertisement would read: (more…)

Wall Tile That Will Make You Feel Awesome July 26, 2009

I don’t know about you, but I thought that I have been there, done that and got the t-shirt when it comes to wall tile. I never imagined that I would ever experience the awesome feeling of seeing something new and breathtaking in the world of wall tile. Was I living in a cave wearing blinders in the dark? Was I transported to another planet where wall tile was nonexistent? Was I stranded on an island in the middle of the South Pacific?
No, I was living in the Chicago area and the thought came to me that I should take a look to see what has happened to wall tile in the 21st century. What a splendid idea! So I did…
As I began to explore all the possibilities I began to realize that wall tile has become an amazing decorating art form that has truly evolved over the past few years. As I researched the forms of wall tile available today, each step of my search brought me into new and exciting materials, styles, colors, shapes and textures that are sure to please even the most scrupulous of individuals.
At first, I came across wall tiles that are familiar to even the most novice wall tile seeker. These wall tiles were those made of ceramic, glass, limestone, marble/granite, porcelain, slate, travertine and mosaic.
The ceramic wall tile I first came across came only in earth tone shades. The glass wall tile had more to choose from. Different shapes of glass in each tile, multi-colored tiles and an array of surface textures.
When I looked at glass tile I found that you are able to get glass tile in every color under the rainbow. The options for glass tile textures are open to exactly what you are looking for. The variety of styles is one of the largest of the tile family.

The attractiveness of copper as a decorative item has been seen throughout history, dating back to 6000 BC, when Egypt embraced the material for jewelry making. It didn’t take long before the ancient Egyptians began hammering sheets of copper to create copper ceilings and walls for their buildings. Because copper did not rust, it made a nice addition to home decoration that also possessed additional weather-resistant capabilities. Today, copper ceiling tiles allow homeowners to build an expressive copper ceiling, filled with unique detail.
A copper ceiling may display a wide-range of patterns and designs, allowing numerous forms of expression. Usually, copper ceiling tiles work well in a kitchen or bathroom, but the sky is the limit when it comes to where copper ceilings may be found in a household. Copper ceiling tiles also extend beyond the home front and have been utilized in many different settings, including commercial business buildings. (more…)
